Program to support women senior business leaders launched in Papua New Guinea

PSDI has partnered with Papua New Guinea’s Business Coalition for Women (BCFW) to launch a training program to support more women to take on senior leadership roles.
The Senior Executive Women’s Program held its first session on 24 August. The program will support women in executive and senior management roles to expand their skills and knowledge of business operations, build confidence, and establish networks with other women in senior positions.
The Senior Executive Women’s Program will run for 17 weeks and is delivered through a combination of lecture-style presentations, case studies, guest speakers, and interactive activities. The course covers a broad range of topics, designed to be relevant to the participants as businesswomen, including risk management and resilience, financial literacy, organizational culture and leadership styles, governance, communications, and strategy.
Increasing the representation of women in senior leadership has widespread benefits to the economy. Global research shows that businesses with women in leadership roles are more profitable and outperform those with fewer or no women, including in their ability to navigate challenging circumstances. PSDI works throughout the Pacific to increase the representation of women in senior management roles and increase women’s full and equal participation in the private sector.
