Pacific Retirement Funds: Anchoring Social Protection in Good Finance
Retirement funds are prevalent across the Pacific, however there is ongoing debate regarding whether these funds should have a narrow retirement focus, or play a wider social protection and financing role.
This paper aims to assist policymakers to clarify the role of these funds—particularly any financing role—and highlights the implications of an individual fund’s role for its asset composition.
